LATE ROMAN-BYZANTINE CRIMEAN
#450103 ca 4th-3rd Century B.C. An Ancient Greek more than usually ornamented black glazed terracotta pedestal bowl. From the Greek colonies in Campania, Southern Italy. An attractive bowl, most likely for salt, standing on a small pedestal base, which would have been a common site on Ancient Greek dining tables as salt was a vital and highly prized commodity. In very good condition with no chips and a pleasant example of the type, 110mm in diameter, 78mm high.
